Pointilism/Stippling is the technique of representing the shadows and highlights of a picture using dots. I learned Pointillism is often used a painting technique and Stippling in pen and ink. In school my art teacher used them interchangeably, so I refer usually to everything as Stippling. However your preference, show your art with pride. It is one of my favorite techniques,I love the precision, and attention to minute detail.
