Wabi-sabi is the Japanese aesthetic philosophy that describes, "the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete." [Leonard Koren]. Wabi-sabi is the strange beauty of things weathered and worn, modest and humble. It is a simple, unpretentious beauty, often overlooked. This group is dedicated to photos which capture and communicate this aesthetic. We welcome and strongly encourage submissions. The group is moderated to ensure the images remain true to this sometime elusive concept. If you submit a photo and it is not approved, don't be discouraged! It sometimes takes some doing to understand the subtleties of this non-western concept.
