Ghost Towns can be interpreted many different ways, but the classic definition of a ghost town is a town who has lost it’s primary means of livelihood and whos population has decreased a significant amount. Some will define a ‘true ghost town’ as one with no current residents. Most ghost towns of the United States were caused by the fall of the gold rush, or any type of mining. This group loosely uses the term and ghost towns or anything resembling a ghost town is welcome.
