It pretty much all started at the Milwaukee Open Canvas fundraiser for MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design). Artists are given a piece of canvas, paints and brushes. They paint a painting, the public comes and it is auctioned off at the end of the evening. At the time from Green Bay and new to the Milwaukee market and with 80 other artists participating, I knew that a vase with flowers was not going to get noticed. How could you not notice a buxom blonde, twirling her shoe with her toe and drinking a martini with a great big smile on her face?
